1920s in Los Angeles, twin sisters Marion and Marjorie Parker head off to school together. Eight hours later, only one of the 12-year-old sisters came home.
That day, a man posing as a family friend entered the school alone, and left with Marion. As their parents reel from shock, a series of telegrams and phone calls continue to muddy the already tearful waters.
